Sustainable fish farming from Germany

Low water consumption for the benefit of the environment

We breed our trout salmon according to the latest standards and use innovative technologies. Production therefore takes place in modern partial recirculation systems, which have extremely low water consumption. This enables us to use the valuable resource of water very sparingly and to keep water extraction from stream and well water very low. Through the modern farming method, computer-controlled, well-coordinated feeding, and advanced water treatment processes using biofilters, our aquaculture facility operates in a very environmentally friendly manner.

ASC certified since 2015

Our fish farm is the first ASC-certified fish farm in Germany and currently the only ASC-certified trout farm.

ASC aims to reduce the impacts of aquaculture on people and the environment worldwide. As ASC is a member of the organization "International Social and Environmental Accreditation and Labelling" (ISEAL), its procedures meet the requirements for credible standard setting. The ASC standards were developed in accordance with ISEAL's "Codes of Good Practice" and thus meet the requirements for inclusive, transparent standard setting.

Sustainable fish farming from Germany

Our trout salmon are bred in partial recirculation systems. These are operated with stream and well water. In the facility, the trout are sorted multiple times, so that we can keep the weight dispersion within the groups as small as possible and consequently feed more precisely and, of course, slaughter more accurately for our customers. All in all, the trout remain in our facility for approx. 26 to 30 months. Throughout the entire production period, we strive for high stability of environmental parameters important for trout, such as oxygen, water quality, temperature, etc. We have been very successful in this in recent years, so that our trout grew uniformly and stress-free, and at the same time their physical condition was so good that disease outbreaks could be avoided.

Transparency is important to us
